I had a missed call so I called back. He placed me on hold immediately. I wasn’t sure which company I was speaking to I asked which company they are and he responded with ‘I don’t know you’re calling me’. I’ve cancelled my appointment. Wouldn’t want to be a patient here.Posted on Google Joy DugmoreTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nigel and I were both so impressed with this Dental Practice. Kwaku the Dentist, Ricky the Receptionist, Alyson and Emma the Dental Nurses were all genuinely friendly, kind, caring and very professional. Would definitely recommend. 10 out of 10Posted on Google Lexy LewisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This dentist is by far the best I've experienced! They've been able to complete work where others have failed and/or gave me negative results. I can now smile again in pics and I've not been able to do this for years due to being self conscious about my broken biscuits. Emma, Ricky, basically all the staff are brilliant. I'm grateful.Posted on Google Adam AndersonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This practice is amazing! The staff are so friendly and the dentist is so gentle. I had a difficult extraction but despite this the dentist was patient and I was comfortable the entire time, not to mention the assistant who cared for me the whole way, I couldn’t recommend this dentist more!Posted on Google Nicki AttleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Shambolic towards children, no care or empathy. Angry and frustrated, shouting at a nervous child when removing a tooth to stop moving to hurry up saying 'I have other patients you know'. Hurting him and causing him to cry his eyes out, that we left half way through the procedure as the child was clearly in agony. Told he would have to come back to have the remainder removed and was booked with someone in this dentists words 'better with children' - although that wouldn't have taken much to be honest. Arrived today to be greeted with the same attitude if not worse. A different dentist but the same dental male nurse who spends the whole time stood with his arms crossed shaking his head. We arrive, neither speak to the child, the dentist only speaks to my husband the whole time, like i wasn't even present. He leads with so the child needs to be compliant with anything we do. Tells him to open his mouth, no bedside manner so to speak, no explanation as to what hes doing despite us telling him his history and knowing what had previously taken place. I sit with him on the chair and narrate what hes doing reassuring them he won't do anything without him knowing. Dentist/nurse should be doing this not me. He says we can either leave it and let the big tooth push it out or remove the last bits. I question if that's an option why that option wasn't given at the first appointment and why we were told it had to urgently come out? Why he had gone through a needle and having it pulled for nearly 2 hours the other day causing further trauma and clearly in agony. He said he wasn't there so the options today are this? So the nervous child sits up and says he doesn't want to have it done. I ask why he would say that in front of a child and ask the risk - can he get an abscess again if left? any pain? will it damage adult tooth behind? He says I don't know. But I can only treat a compliant child. I express that if you give any child the option of leave it or have an injection and pain they will pick the leave it option every day of the week. I question him why he would say that in front of the child, why hes making no advise or recommendation and if it can be left why did the previous extraction take place so urgently. He fails to advise anything other than he finishes at 5pm and so we need to hurry up and decide. I then ask why if we were in the previous appointment nearly 2 hours why would they book us 20 minutes before they close? He says they finish at 5pm and it should be a 20 minute process/appointment. All he kept saying over and over to all my questions and challenges regarding standard of care was they finish at 5pm and the child has to be compliant with any care. The dental nurse stood shaking his head, I asked why he was shaking his head and the dentist said he wasn't. I challenged this and said he clearly was and he was huffing which I hadn't raised and the nurse said i finish at 5pm - I challenged that it wasn't even 5pm yet, that if it took longer due to their lack of preparation/consideration when booking the second appointment that wasn't our issue. I am not for expecting people to work over, but they booked the second appointment with the so called dentist best with children 20 mins before the end of their day not me. At no point did i shout, swear or even raise my voice, i was respectful in my questioning of their decisions and service levels and so to be met with childish huffing under face masks and shaking heads is quite shocking. So, if you are looking for a Dentist that does work they potentially don't need to do, are grossly inconsiderate of children equally not concerned with causing fear and who are disrespectful to women you've found the place!Posted on Google Sarah DuffyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently visited Britannia House Surgery in Newport and was treated by Mr Shahid Alam, and I can honestly say it was a 5‑star experience from start to finish. As a very nervous patient, I was anxious about needing an extraction of a back tooth, but the staff were incredibly friendly and reassuring from the moment I arrived. Mr Alam made me feel completely at ease — he was so gentle that I didn’t feel a thing during the procedure. I had worked myself up beforehand, but there was absolutely no need. His calm manner and professionalism made all the difference. I would highly recommend Mr Shahid Alam and the whole team at Britannia House Surgery. A truly outstanding dentist and a fantastic practice.Posted on Google George D’ArcyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Seen promptly with no waiting time. Friendly, professional treatment. Procedure explained. Regularly being asked if I was okay or in any pain ( which I wasn’t). Next appointment booked. A very satisfactory visit. Friendly and kind staff.
